News & Events

On Friday 05 July, the winners of The Bright Sparks Awards were revealed. This competition, organised by the KM Charity Team, challenged primary and secondary schools in Kent to put their innovative skills and creative minds to the test in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

As one of the sponsors of the Dragon’s Den style competition, global associates’ representative, Design Engineer Gary Smith was one of the judges and had to quiz the 13 finalists about their projects before reaching a decision on the overall champion and other winners.

Gary Smith said, “It has been a pleasure to support the Bright Sparks KM event. Congratulations to all of the winners, the quality of entries was exceptional, and it made for a very difficult decision for myself and the other judges. This type of competition is vital in unlocking the potential in future engineers and helping manage the engineering skills gap over the coming years.”

Paul Wetherfield, CEO of global associates added, “We at global associates are very passionate about discovering new talent, hence the reason we set up the global training academy five years ago. We were delighted to support the Bright Sparks KM event which celebrates the finest young talent in the Kent area while also giving something back to the local community. We will of course continue to proudly support Inspire Schools and the KM Charity Team.”
