The Global Associates sustainability strategy is centred around the United Nations SDG’s which is used as a framework for developing key initiatives.
The sustainability strategy is underpinned by key sustainability policies, including a sustainability policy, environmental policy, sustainable procurement policy and carbon reduction policy. These policies ensure that sustainability is embedded into the business through a governance-led approach, championed from the top by key stakeholders. Since 2019, Global Associates has implemented ambitious initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and achieve carbon neutrality ahead of schedule. Targets included reducing at least 5 tonnes of carbon emissions annually and becoming the first truly carbon neutral BEMS company in England. Carbon emission data included scope 1, scope 2 and, through important supply chain collaboration, scope 3 emissions using the UK Government Conversion Factors for Greenhouse Gas Reporting verified by independent consultants.
